Welcome!

The work of Partners In Health (PIH) has three goals: to care for our patients, to alleviate the root causes of disease in their communities, and to share lessons learned around the world.

Thanks to long-term partnerships with our sister organizations, we bring the benefits of modern medical science to those most in need and work to alleviate the crushing economic and social burdens of poverty that exacerbate disease. Through service, training, advocacy and research, we seek to raise the standard of care for the poor everywhere. As a natural extension to our mission, we are building an online “knowledge community,” sharing our experiences and resources and inviting others who are engaged in similar work to do the same.

On this site, we are showcasing the way we work, the tools we use and how the principles of community-based care and solidarity form the core of what we do. We hope you will contribute to this project and share your experience and feedback with us. As a registered user, you will be able to add comments on specific sections and join discussion forums. Unregistered users can browse the entire website and download files.

Join the Discussion on GHDonline - We have always hoped that the PIH Model Online website would not only provide information, but raise questions and foster discussion. To provide an outlet for this valuable dialogue, Partners In Health has joined the Global Health Delivery (GHD) project and invites you to discuss the PIH model in the Adherence community of GHDonline, the "communities of practice" website of GHD. Through GHDonline, health care implementers can share proven practices, connect with colleagues, and find resources they need to improve health outcomes in resource-limited settings.

Just follow the links to GHDonline discussions throughout our sections to start sharing feedback and questions with health implementers from PIH, Harvard Medical School, and a growing list of other organizations!
