Nutritional support is a critical aspect of PIH’s efforts to deliver comprehensive, high-quality medical care. Food, so fundamental to our survival and well-being, is often overlooked in planning and funding health projects. The logistics and considerations are indeed challenging. Short-term interventions, such as clinical care for malnourished children, must be complemented by long-term efforts to improve local economies and agricultural capacity, reverse environmental degradation that cripples productive land use, and advocate for fair trade and agricultural policies at the global level.
