Health Facility Survey
Understanding the needs and capacity of health care
facilities is important to guide site strengthening activities and
monitor the effectiveness of efforts to deliver. As part of a planning grant
activity funded by the Doris Duke Charitable foundation, Partners In
Health developed a site survey to provide site-specific information to
develop plans for health systems and site specific strengthening
activities. The instrument was developed based on input from providers
and other key informants in Rwanda, team experience in site monitoring
and evaluation, review of publicly available instruments along with
Foundation, and work from the PIH team engaged in the WHO-funded
Positive Synergies Project. The tool was piloted and revised based on
initial experience and then administered to a number of health care
facilities in Rwanda. We are posting this instrument as a potential
resource for other programs.
